Research:
Develops new wheat cultivars for Idaho and the Pacific Northwest utilizing conventional breeding techniques and genetic transformation. Determines genetic control of agronomically important traits in wheat. Develops cooperative programs with entomology and plant pathology to improve host plant resistance in wheat.

Teaching:
Breeding, genetics, cytogenetics and plant biotechnology
