Research:
Conducts research on the influence of wind-blown materials
on distribution, properties, and classification of Idaho soils.
Evaluates the influence of volcanic ash in soils of northern
and central Idaho and wind-deposited soil parent materials
of the Palouse region and upper Snake River Plain. Examines
the influence of buried soils (paleosols) and hardpans on
hydrological and geochemical processes
Teaching:
Introductory soils, Use and abuse of land resources, soil
development and classification, soil mineralogy, soil and
site evaluation
