Research:
Hariet is the leader of the Weed Biological Control Research
Group at CABI Europe-Switzerland, where she is responsible
for 15 weed projects conducted for North America. As
part of her focus on biological week control, her research
interests lie in the impact of specialized insect herbivores
on individual plants and plant populations, plant-insect
interactions, behavioural studies, and more recently, in the
mechanisms of host acceptance and host suitability of
specialist herbivores.

In 2002, Hariet became Affiliate Assistant Professor in the
PSES Department. During this period, she has
co-supervised two M.Sc. and one Ph.D. student in
cooperations with Associate Professor Mark Schwarzlander,
and is currently co-supervising a Ph.D. student with
Professor Sanford Eigenbrode.
