Research:
Conducts research which complements extension program on
sugar beets,
improved stand establishment, disease etiology and control.
Extension:
Works toward improved sugar beet production and profitability.
Advises and trains extension personnel, sugar company agronomists,
fieldsmen, and growers. Serves as liaison between the University
of Idaho (UI) and sugar beet industry. Chairs the UI Sugar
beet
Working Group. Advises Grower-UI-Company seed committee. Cooperates
with Idaho Department of Agriculture in matters of pest control
including registration of pesticides and imposition of quarantines
