The purpose of IR-4 is to work with farmers, agricultural scientists and extension personnel to carry out research and petition the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in order to obtain tolerances for specific pesticide uses needed by minor crop producers.  The Idaho program is coordinated with the Western Region IR-4 located at University of California—Davis and the National Headquarters at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

The minor use program maintains a searchable database with information about the status of all new pesticide tolerances for minor crops.

For questions concerning the Idaho IR-4 program, contact the State Liason Representative, Ronda Hirnyck
