This advanced training is designed to provide each student with skills essential to be an effective research scientist. Upon completion, each student will possess the following:

• A comprehension of important concepts in cellular and molecular biology and pathogenesis;


• The ability to formulate experiments designed to appropriately test hypotheses;


• The technical skill to perform experiments; and


• A high level of scholarship to discuss scientific experiments and concepts clearly and effectively in both written and oral presentations
