Purchase/Download Symantec AV
To purchase Symantec Antivirus from UI's support web site, use the tutorial below. This tutorial will guide you though purchasing Symantec Antivirus, uninstalling your old antivirus software, and installing Symantec. 1. Go to http://support.uidaho.edu

Login with your username and your e-mail/novell password in the "Login to Account Manager" gray box on the right of the page.

Click on the "UI AntiVirus" hyperlink on the left menu
4.
Make sure "1" is in the Qty field for 0.5 year license
5.
Put your budget number in the "Enter budget number:" field
6.
Click on "Review AntiVirus Purchase" button to review your order
7.
Click on "Purchase/Download AntiVirus Software" page to purchase the software and go to the download page
8.
On the download page, click on "Download for Windows 2000/XP Version 10.1.5.5000" to download to your desktop
Uninstall Previous Antivirus program
1.
Click on Windows XP Start Menu and select "Control Panel"

2. Double click on "Add/Remove Programs" and wait for the current installed programs list to appear
3.
Scroll down until you find the other Antivirus program
4. Click on it once to show the "Change" and "Remove" buttons
5. Click on the "Remove" button and follow the program remove procedures as they are shown on your computer screen
6. Restart your computer after the old Antivirus software is removed
Install Symantec Antivirus
1. Double click on the "SAVCE_10.1.5.5000.exe" that should be on your desktop
2. Follow the install instructions to install the program. The installation is automated and will run without any interaction
3. You may receive a message about your virus definitions being out of date. Go ahead and click "Close" to continue
4. Once the installation is complete, you will be promoted to do a "liveupdate" of the Symantec software. This will update your computer with the latest virus definitions.
5. You may need to reboot your system after the installation and liveupdate are complete
