Microsoft Exchange Upgrade
To upgrade to Microsoft Exchange, use the tutorial below. This is the new UI employee e-mail system, which includes larger quota, integrated calendaring, and many more features. You can find more information by visiting ITS Help Desk at http://support.uidaho.edu/exchange/

1. Go to http://support.uidaho.edu

Type in your email username and password and click on “Secure Login” in the “Login to Account Manager” box on the right of the screen.

Click on the “Upgrade to Exchange” hyperlink on the left menu

Scroll down to “Step 1 – Select Account(s) to Upgrade” section and click on the check box next to your email address

Scroll down and review the information in “ Step 2 - Confirm Changes to Account(s)”

Scroll down and click on the “Upgrade to Exchange” button to start the upgrade process of moving email from the iPlanet/Vandalmail server to Exchange server. NOTE: This could take 5 to 10 minutes depending on how emails are on the system.

While email is being moved to the Exchange server go to: http://support.uidaho.edu/exchange site to find instructions on how to update Outlook 2007.

Click on the “Exchange: Setup Questions” section to see the setup options

Click on “How do I setup Outlook 2007?” to see the Outlook 2007 options.
10. Click on “Click here for the Automatic setup for Outlook. (ITS Recommended Setup)” for information on downloading the automatic profile setup program.

Click on “Outlook Profile Setup” hyperlink to download the “Outlook-Profile-Setup.exe” to your computer Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2003.
12. Click on the “Save” button on File Download – Security Warning window
13. Click on the “Save” button to save the program to Windows Desktop
14. Click on the “Open Folder” button on the Download complete window.
15. Go to Windows Desktop and double click on the double click on the “Outlook-Profile-Setup.exe”. Make sure Outlook is not running while running this setup program.
16. Click on the “Run” button “File Open – Security Warning” window
17. Click on the “Yes” button on the “Outlook Profile Setup” window to create a new profile called “UI-Exchange” and start Outlook.
18. Click on the OK button to accept your email address on the “Outlook Profile Setup” window
19. Type in your full email address and password and click on the OK button in the Connect to exvs1.its.uidaho.edu window
20.Outlook 2007 should now start up with Exchange server connection information. You will see the following email message in a blank email box.
