Software Licensing
Computer software may be purchased from any vendor. The UI Bookstore offers site licenses for Microsoft products. "Site license" does not mean that the software is available free of charge for use at the UI. Rather it means that special pricing has been obtained for the UI and licenses must be obtained for each computer.

Manufacturers' software licenses govern the use of computer software. College personnel and personnel working on behalf of the college shall not install software on computers used for college work in violation of the license agreement, nor shall CCS personnel be asked to install software in violation of the license agreement. Furthermore, CCS personnel will not work on any computer known to have illegal software. Most computer software requires a license for each computer. Each user is responsible for adhering to the licensing agreements for all software used on his/her computer.

Fines are very high for violations of software license agreements. Do not risk the liability by violating software license agreements. If you think you can't afford a license for each computer, you probably can't afford the computer and you certainly can't afford the fine!
