Email
ITS recommends Outlook 2007 or Entourage 2004 for the integrated
features of email and shared calendaring in the same program.
CALS computing recommends setting the default email format to
"Plain Text" to not cause problems with other email programs
receiving attachments.
Users who do not wish to use Outlook 2007 can still use there
current email program but will need to update there POP or IMAP
settings to allow for a secure connection to the Exchange email
server or use the web email Outlook Web Access (OWA).
Pegasus users wishing to move to Outlook 2007:
We have a migration method to move your email into Outlook but
would prefer you leave Pegasus on your computer to view
old email as an archive. Then convert the email later when this
switch over is complete.
Address Books:
We are working with ITS to find methods to migrate our address
book into the Exchange system so we can access it from with in
Outlook and/or on the web.
Reading Email Online:
After your account is switched to the Exchange server, you can
access email online through Outlook Web Access (OWA) at
http://mail.uidaho.edu using your full email address and
password with Internet Explorer.
