Marketing

Expertise and Programs: Identification and assessment of alternative marketing strategies for agricultural producers and agribusiness firms. Forward pricing and futures market based marketing alternatives, including analysis of Pacific Northwest basis behavior. Analysis of commodity prices and factors impacting prices of important commodities for the Pacific Northwest region. Evaluation of feasibilities of alternative enterprises and specialty crops. Extension experience in areas of planning and evaluating commodity marketing and price outlook (focusing on grains and livestock), feasibility analysis of alternative enterprises, and agricultural policy. International experience in Uruguay and Former Soviet Union. Teaching related to introductory agricultural economics, agricultural marketing, and agricultural policy and development of off-campus degree programs.
